Self-Storage Facilities Solutions

Low Voltage Systems for Self-Storage Facilities & Storage Portfolios

Gate entry, door access, perimeter video and site networks for storage properties that stay open after the office closes.

Data Pro Communications installs gate entry, access control, security cameras and networks for self-storage facilities across Florida. We work with owners, operators, developers and general contractors on drive-up properties, climate-controlled buildings and multi-site storage portfolios. One licensed crew handles the gate, the office and every camera on the property.

Your gate is the front door of the business. Tenants expect their code to work the first time, and managers need a clear record of who came through and when. We plan entry, video and the network together, so the site keeps running smoothly when no one is behind the counter.

Enhanced Security

controlled gate entry, perimeter cameras and recorded drive aisles.

Reliable Connectivity

a stable network linking the office, the gate and outer buildings.

Operational Efficiency

remote management of gate codes, office doors and camera views.

Tenant Experience

quick keypad entry and clear two-way communication at the call box.

Challenges in Self-Storage Environments

Storage properties are spread out, exposed to Florida weather and often unstaffed for long stretches. Those conditions shape every system we install.

Gate Entry That Fails Under Load

Worn keypads and aging telephone entry units frustrate tenants and pull managers away from rentals.

Long, Dark Drive Aisles

Rows of units and back fence lines leave large areas outside any camera view, especially after sunset.

Buildings Far from the Office

Outer buildings and rear gates often sit beyond the distance a standard copper run can reach.

Unstaffed Access Hours

Tenants may use the gate long after the office closes, so entry and video must work without staff on site.

Disconnected Systems

Gate controllers, door readers and cameras from different vendors make it hard to match an entry to the right footage.

Integrated Systems Built for Self-Storage Operations

We plan gate entry, access control, cameras and the network as one system for your facility. Cameras are aimed at the gate lanes, keypads and building doors. That way, recorded video lines up with the entry points your access system logs.

At the gate, DoorKing telephone entry and keypads handle tenant and visitor entry, and DoorKing operators move swing or slide gates. PDK Red Gate outdoor controllers can manage gate access through the pdk.io cloud platform. Inside, Brivo Access secures the office, interior hallway doors and staff areas, with mobile credentials for your team.

On larger properties, fiber or wireless links carry video and gate data from outer buildings back to the office. The same design can repeat at every facility in your portfolio.

Planning a self-storage project?

Send us the site plan and your opening or upgrade date. We will lay out the gate, camera and network scope for your property.

Our Process

01

Assessment

We walk the gate, drive aisles, fences and office with your manager. Distances to outer buildings and existing power and conduit are recorded on the site plan.

02

Design

Drawings place each keypad, reader, camera and network link. The plan also shows how tenants keep gate access during the cutover.

03

Deployment

Crews stage gate work in short windows so tenants are not locked out. Trenching and pole work are scheduled around office hours and weather.

04

Commissioning

We test gate entry, each door, every camera view and all network links. Your team then receives labeled records and a walkthrough of the system.

Why Self-Storage Clients Choose Data Pro Communications

Storage operators need systems that keep working when no one is in the office. We design for sun, rain, long distances and unstaffed hours, and we keep your gate open to tenants while we work. One licensed team under FL License #EC13016138 handles gate entry, doors, cameras and the network.

Gate cutovers planned around tenant traffic.

Outdoor-rated enclosures and pathways.

A repeatable standard for multi-site portfolios.

Clear records for your manager and IT support.

Self-Storage Systems FAQs

Do you install gate entry systems for self-storage facilities?

Yes. We install DoorKing telephone entry and keypads, DoorKing swing and slide gate operators, and the cabling and power that connect them. PDK Red Gate controllers can add cloud management of gate access. Each entry point is tested with your manager before the old equipment leaves service.

Can you replace an old keypad without replacing the gate operator?

In most cases, yes. We check the existing operator, wiring and conduit during the site walk. If the operator is in sound condition, we install new entry hardware and reconnect it. If it is worn out, we explain the options so you can plan a replacement on your own timeline.

Can your cameras read license plates at the gate?

Yes. We install Axis plate recognition cameras at entry and exit lanes, mounted and aimed for the lane width and approach. Plate images and lane video are recorded with your other cameras. Your gate entry hardware handles the codes, while the cameras document which vehicles came and went.

How do you cover long drive aisles and back fences?

We use pole-mounted and building-mounted cameras along aisles, corners and fence lines. Positions are chosen during design so each view overlaps the next. Where outer buildings sit beyond copper distance, fiber or a wireless link brings video back to the recorder in the office.

Can you work while tenants still need gate access?

Yes. We schedule gate cutovers in short windows during slow hours and keep a working entry method in place until the new one passes testing. Camera and network work continues around tenant traffic. Your manager gets the schedule ahead of time and can let tenants know about any brief change.

Do you install access control for the office and climate-controlled buildings?

Yes. Brivo Access secures the office, staff areas and interior hallway doors, with mobile credentials for your team. Door schedules can follow office hours and tenant access hours. Readers and electrified hardware are wired back to a controller and tested door by door before turnover.

Can we manage several storage facilities from one account?

Usually, yes. Brivo manages doors across multiple locations from one cloud account, and the pdk.io platform from PDK syncs people, groups and rules across sites. We document one standard so hardware, labeling and settings match. Your regional team can then support every facility the same way.

Do you handle new storage construction with the general contractor?

Yes. We coordinate conduit, trenching, pole locations and closet space with the general contractor during site work. Gate, camera and network devices go in during finish phases. At turnover, you receive test results and as-built drawings that show every pathway and device on the property.

Do you serve self-storage facilities across Florida?

Yes. Our Orlando headquarters supports storage projects statewide, from Central Florida to both coasts. Owners with several Florida facilities can use one contractor and one design standard everywhere. Send us your locations, and we will confirm scheduling for each property and plan site walks in a sensible order.

Do you provide service after the installation?

Yes. We return for repairs, moves, adds and changes as your facility grows or adds buildings. Labeled records from the original project help each visit go faster. If a camera, reader or keypad needs attention, your manager calls one team that already knows the site.
