Client Reviews

What Our Clients Say About Our Cabling Work

“Data Pro ran Cat6A throughout our entire 40,000 sq ft distribution facility every drop certified with Fluke. The project came in on schedule and passed AHJ inspection on the first visit. Exceptional work.”

Thomas H.

Facilities Director

Distribution Center, Orlando FL

“We brought Data Pro in as our low-voltage sub on a major tenant improvement. Their team coordinated perfectly with our GC and MEP engineers. Clean terminations, labeled everything, delivered as-builts same day.”

Sandra M.

Project Manager

Commercial Construction, Tampa FL

“Our old cabling was a mess from three different vendors over 10 years. Data Pro did a full MDF/IDF buildout and re-terminated everything. Infrastructure looks and performs like a new building.”

Kevin L.

Facilities Manager

Corporate Campus, Miami FL

Frequently Asked Questions

What is structured cabling for commercial buildings?+
Structured cabling is a standardized, ANSI/TIA-568-compliant infrastructure of copper (Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic cabling, pathways, racks, patch panels, terminations, and labeling that supports voice, data, video, security, and access control systems in commercial buildings. A well-designed system is technology-agnostic and built to scale across future hardware refreshes.
What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A cabling?+
Cat6 is rated for 1 Gigabit Ethernet at 100 meters and 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to about 55 meters. Cat6A supports full 10 Gigabit Ethernet at the complete 100-meter channel and offers improved alien crosstalk performance, which makes it the default choice for new commercial deployments, dense Wi-Fi 6/6E access point rollouts, and PoE++ powered devices.
When should we choose fiber optic instead of copper cabling?+
Fiber is the right choice for backbone runs between buildings, for links between MDF and IDF rooms beyond 100 meters, for 10/40/100 Gigabit aggregation, and for environments with electrical interference. Single-mode fiber (OS2) is used for long distances; multi-mode fiber (OM3 or OM4) is typical inside a building for shorter, high-bandwidth links.
Do you work with general contractors and construction projects?+
Yes. We integrate directly with GCs, architects, and electrical contractors during pre-construction, rough-in, and finish stages. We coordinate sleeves, pathways, J-hooks, cable tray, conduit, and core drills with the construction schedule so cabling is installed at the right phase without trade conflicts.
Do you provide testing and certification?+
Yes. All copper runs are certified to ANSI/TIA-568 Permanent Link or Channel specs with a Fluke DSX or equivalent tester. Fiber is tested with OLTS and OTDR for insertion loss, continuity, and end-to-end performance. You receive a digital test report for every drop plus full as-built documentation.
Are you certified and licensed in Florida?+
Yes. We are a Florida-licensed Electrical Contractor (EC) and our technicians hold industry credentials. We follow the Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (TDMM) best practices and the ANSI/TIA-568, TIA-569 pathway, TIA-606 labeling, and TIA-607 grounding standards on every project.
What is included in your as-built documentation?+
Every project ships with cable labeling per ANSI/TIA-606, panel-to-outlet maps, port-by-port test certification reports, rack elevations, floor-plan markups showing each drop, pathway and conduit routes, and a digital handoff package suitable for facilities or IT teams.
Do you build MDF and IDF rooms from scratch?+
Yes. We design and build out MDF (Main Distribution Frame) and IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) rooms including racks, ladder rack, vertical and horizontal cable management, grounding and bonding to TIA-607 standards, patch panels, and terminations ready for the customer's active equipment.
Can your cabling systems support future expansion?+
Yes. We oversize pathways (conduit fill, cable tray capacity, J-hook spacing) and patch panel slot counts to accommodate 30 to 40 percent growth. Cat6A and fiber backbone choices give a 10- to 15-year technology horizon as bandwidth demands grow with Wi-Fi, IP cameras, and PoE devices.
What is a typical lead time for a commercial cabling project?+
Lead time depends on scope, but for standard tenant improvement work in Florida we typically engineer and mobilize within 2 to 3 weeks of contract execution. Ground-up projects with hundreds or thousands of drops are scheduled around the construction project schedule, with cabling rough-in tied directly to electrical rough-in.
